Flamenco Sevillanas

Learn Sevillanas, the partner dance that is popular at fiestas and festivals in Spain!
No partner required. No special dance gear required. No experience required.
Goal of Class (what will the student learn from this class?)
Attend all classes for a refresher or to learn to dance the four coplas of sevillanas for the first time. Each copla is about 1 minute long, and there are lots of steps that repeat.
Optional: bring your castanets to learn how to play them, as well.
Supply List: Bring your smiles! Castanets are optional. Video recording of steps is permitted at the end of each class.
Dramatic Structure Workshop

During this workshop, we will explore key elements of playwriting for beginners, including Character Development, Language Analysis, Themes and Ideas, and Plot Structure. We will also have attendees create an outline and begin writing a play.
Supply List This is a hands-on workshop that requires attendees to have something to write with: Pen and paper, laptop, or even a notepad app on a cell phone are acceptable.
The Toolbox for Devised Theater

Ages 18 and up
Devised Theatre is an energetic and active way of generating new works. Devised Theatre creators learn to fluidly share the roles of actor, writer, director, and designer to make new work in an ensemble setting.
Participants will be equipped with the skills necessary to confidently enter a collaborative creative process.
Graduates of this class will be eligible to write, create, and perform a Merely Players mainstage production in November of 2019!
How to Market Your Plays

During this workshop, we will discuss formatting for submission, writing a cover letter, pitching your ideas, how to submit, to fee or not to fee, what to expect when submitting, where to submit, social media marketing, website development, submitting to publishers, self-publishing, being your own agent, and more. This will be an interactive seminar.

This class is a fun introduction to theater for our youngest stars and their parents! Theater concepts and terminology are introduced through games and songs, parts of a theater and different aspects of production are explored through storytelling and crafts. One caretaker MUST attend and participate their child.
Acting 1 for High School Students

Introduction to Acting for high school aged students explores how an actor might create a character, what tools an actor uses and how to best use those tools.
Must wear flat shoes, covered toes, and clothes you can move in. No heels, sandals, or bare feet. Hair must be pulled off your face.
